you've been using the internet to find information and everything but have you ever wonder how's it work?
Search engines are web tools that help us to find information through the website. It allows users to enter the keywords and find the information needed.
Example of search engines
4 parts of search engines:
1) database to store references
2) web crawlers to find compile indexes
3) user interface
4) information retrieval system
What is database?
a storage that keeps all the indexes and it only contains only essential information of a web page and this is where it is query matched.
What is web crawler?
An automated program or bot. It "crawl" to find all the information by entering the keywords
What is user interface?
a user-friendly app or a site friendly where users may input query and search result are presented.
eg: Google
What is information retrieval systems?
A system used to match the user's query to indexes the webpages found in the database and results are presented according to the relevance results.
